International performer/sculptural artist Sha Sha Higby.
A performance and workshop of Sha Sha Higby’s IN FOLDS OF GOLD, her latest work, in collaboration with Washburn University's Theater Dept., Art Dept., International Programs and Multicultural Affairs.
Creations of hand crafted materials, textures and exotic sculptural costumes interwoven with puppetry, dance and intricate props, her work creates a journey in which movement and stillness meet.
Friday, September 16, at 7:30 pm, Higby will present a performance of IN FOLDS OF GOLD using the exquisite and ephemeral body sculpture she meticulously creates herself and moves within.
Saturday, September 17, from 1-3 pm, Higby will present a Masks & Their Movement workshop at the Mulvane Art Museum. Participants will gain insight into the creative techniques Higby uses for making her costumes while making their own paper mask sculptures. Registration is required.
