Current Exhibitions

light and heavy

February 2 – March 23, 2018

From subtly embossed drawings, and paper collages, to sculptural found object printing presses—assemblages of cans, crates, pipes, minerals and fluid—and the large-scale prints that they render, the varietal scope of this exhibition represents a survey of artist Terry Conrad’s recent and new work. This installation both unpacks the printmaking process, and demonstrates Conrad’s traditional mastery of craft, and marked eclecticism.

Terry Conrad is an Assistant Professor and Iowa Print Media Faculty Fellow at the University of Iowa, a 2017 New York Foundation for the Arts Fellow in Drawing, Printmaking and Book Arts, and was the 2015-16 Grant Wood Fellow in Printmaking. Conrad has participated in two-person and solo exhibitions at the New Art Center (Newton, MA), Good Weather Fallery (North Little Rock, AR), and Vox Populi (Philadelphia, PA), and has received residencies at Frans Masereel Centrium (Belgium), Penland School of Craft (North Carolina), and the Vermont Studio Center.
