Eligibility Requirements

All Washburn mascot performers are full-time Washburn students, or will be when they begin performing. You must meet a height requirement and be able to wear the Ichabod costume.

Stipend

Mascot performers receive $650 per semester.
Mascot assistants receive $450 per semester.
Both positions are work-study eligible.

About tryouts

• Specific information about tryouts for the 2013-2014 school year will be detailed here in the future.
• Mascot performers will be selected based on their appropriateness and entertainment value.

Ichabod's 2011-12 year in review:

From January to June, two performers made 67 appearances (83 hours). For the entire 2011-12 academic year Ichabod strutted his stuff at 129 different appearances, for a total of 204 hours.

Some of Ichabod's favorite gigs this year:

• Ichabod was invited to Mac’s birthday party (of the Missouri Mavericks hockey team) and to Sluggerrr’s Birthday Bash (of the Kansas City Royals). Check out photos on Facebook.
• Ichabod’s performance from Homecoming 2011's Yell Like Hell was uploaded to YouTube and has more than 164,360 views.
• And Ichabod is beaming because there were zero complaints about the mascot program or performers. Kuddos to the two of them for representing Washburn and the spirit of Ichabod so well.
