Blanche Parks was originally appointed to the Washburn Board by Mayor Butch Felker in 1993 and reappointed by Mayor Joan Wagnon in 1996. She is the Regents appointee from the 19th state senatorial district.
Parks, retired from the Kansas Department on Aging, holds a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in education from Washburn University.
She has served five one-year terms as vice chairperson to the Board, in addition to two one-year terms as chairwoman.
Her term as a Regent is to expire June 30, 2016.
