Individual Development

The program is more than a series of topics in leadership; it challenges participants to be self-directed in their learning by formulating an individualized leadership action plan based on program content and activities. Throughout the program participants are encouraged to reflect on session content and consider specific, actionable plans that may be appropriate for further leadership development. A culminating outcome includes a comprehensive individualized action plan and a reflection on the professional development opportunities.       

 Organizational Development

The program also challenges the participants to demonstrate leadership at the organizational level. Working in small Leadership Project Groups, participants are challenged to identify an organizational issue or opportunity related to the strategic plan and, using a problem solving approach introduced in the program, develop an actionable plan for implementation. Specific process milestones are expected throughout the program. Presentation of the group projects will be a major focus of the final session.
