Success Courses
There are currently four success
classes offered at Washburn University:
- WU
101-The Washburn Experience (3 hrs): This course is designed to introduce
direct-from-high-school students to college life, the history of Washburn,
the skills needed to succeed at the university level, and the importance
of information literacy.
- IS
100-College Experience (2 hrs): This course is designed for the
adult/nontraditional student or the student returning to college after
some time away. It covers the skills needed to succeed at the university
level, university services and resources at Washburn, and how to manage
real life with student life.
- IS
120-Major & Career Exploration (2 hrs): Through self-assessment,
readings, and other activities, this course attempts to bridge the
student's academic experience, interests, and values to the world of work.
- IS
170-Library Research Strategies (1 hr): Students are introduced to basic
library research skills using the print and electronic resources of Mabee
Library.
