The WU Human Services Department offers an emphasis area in Gerontology with its Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Human Services. Human Services courses at the undergraduate level combine general education, human services coursework and internships, along with an emphasis area that includes 15 hours of coursework. The emphasis in Gerontology takes a multidisciplinary perspective, with courses such as Theories on Aging, Mental Health and Aging, and Death and Dying. Coursework provides knowledge and skills to help students learn ways to address the needs of older people, their families and communities, and an aging society.
