Business Scholarships

 

In recognition of the quality of School of Business programs, many alumni, community leaders, and organizations have given generously to support academic excellence with financial aid for students. Thanks to  their generosity, we are able to offer scholarships to both incoming and current business students who meet the requirements.

Academic Scholarship as a New Student – The online application must be completed by  February 15^th. Please  print  your confirmation page to ensure your application was submitted properly. Selected students will receive the award  for the following fall and spring semester.). Incoming freshmen must have a composite ACT score of 23 or higher and a high school cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher. Incoming transfer students must have a cumulative college GPA of 3.25 or higher to be eligible. Both freshmen and transfer students will need to submit a declaration of major in business by the end of the first term at Washburn to maintain their scholarship eligibility.

Marcoux Leadership Scholarship – The completed application must be submitted to the School of Business by February 15^th. Selected students will receive the award  the following fall and spring semesters.

A student who receives a Marcoux Leadership Scholarship may not also receive an academic scholarship from the School. Incoming freshmen applicants  must have a 26 or higher  composite ACT score and a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher.  Current students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher to be eligible.

 
Academic Scholarship as a Current Student –
The online application must be completed by February 15^th. Please print your confirmation page to ensure your application was submitted properly. Selected students will receive the award  for the following fall and spring semester. Eligible students  must have a cumulative college GPA of 3.25 or higher and should be making normal progress toward the completion of the BBA degree. 

Study Abroad Scholarship – The completed application must be submitted to the School of Business by December 1 for spring study abroad and by April 1 for summer and fall study. If selected, awards will be applied toward tuition expenses only for the term abroad.  To be eligible, you must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and have a minimum of 24 hours completed.  

Entrepreneurship Scholarship – The completed application must be submitted to the School of Business by February 15^th.Selected students will receive the award the following fall and spring semester. To be eligible, you must be taking or have taken courses that apply toward the Certificate in Entrepreneurship offered by the School of Business.  Every new student who qualifies for a School of Business scholarship also will qualify for a Washburn University Academic scholarship. For more information about scholarships outside of the School of Business, please contact our admissions office at 785.670.1030, toll free at 1.800.332.0291, or email Admission and ask for the brochure "Introduction to Financial Aid & Scholarships."  Every student who visits Washburn should be given this brochure as part of their new student packet or you may pick one up at the Admissions Office in Morgan room 114.  Students who need to renew their Washburn University Academic Scholarship should so at the Financial Aid Office
in Morgan Hall.
