Parking

  • Parking on campus is free.
  • There is a parking lot located near the conference site, adjacent to the Bradbury Thompson Alumni Center.
    • The Bradbury Thompson Alumni Center is located north of the Memorial Union.
    • Refer to the campus map (link shown above) to view parking lot locations.

Registration, Check-in and Opening Session

Dress

  • There is no conference dress code.
  • This is not a formal event, so feel free to be casual and comfortable for the day.

Lunch Menu

  • Our lunch menu will consist of an internationally themed buffet.
  • Information forthcoming.
  • Vegetarian/vegan options will be available.
    • You must mark your selection on the registration form if you wish to have a vegetarian entrée.
    • Please also note on the registration form under “Special Services/Needs” if you have food allergies/sensitivities that require an alternate menu selection other than what is offered.

Lodging

  • There are many overnight accommodations available with varying price points and amenities available in the area.

Refund Policy

  • Refunds are generally not allowed since most of the cost for the registration fee is consumed by non-recoupable expenses such as service fees and food orders that are confirmed and invoiced in advanced based upon anticipated attendance. Nonetheless, consideration may be given for partial refunds on a case-by-case petition basis if cancellation due to an emergency occurs prior to the start of the conference.

Pedro L. Irigonegaray

"Freedom: An Immigrant's Perspective"

Pedro L. Irigonegaray was born in Havana, Cuba, May 11, 1948.  At twelve years of age, in 1961, he immigrated with his mother to the United States as political refugees.  Weeks later, his two sisters, ages two and seven, also came to the United States, followed by his father in March of 1961.  He was raised in Topeka, Kansas.  He graduated from high school at Kemper Military Academy in Booneville, Missouri, in 1966.  He earned an Associates of Arts Degree from Kemper Military Academy in 1968, a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Washburn University in 1970, and his Juris Doctorate from Washburn University School of Law in 1973.  Upon graduation from law school and successful completion of the Kansas and Florida bar examinations, Mr. Irigonegaray began the private practice of law.

Mr. Irigonegaray and his partner, Elizabeth R. Herbert, are litigation lawyers.  They practice in the following areas of expertise:
