After completing her LE 400 internship in the Fall of 2009 with the MS Society, senior Morgan Schaeffer utilized the connections she had created to bridge into a second internship for her Mass Media major. Morgan engaged in a Public Relations internship with the Topeka RoadRunners NAHL Hockey Team in the Spring of 2010. In this internship, Morgan oversaw MS Society Night with the RoadRunners and Think Big Topeka Google Night with the RoadRunners, two large events linked to the hockey team. She also promoted events, wrote news releases, sold tickets, put up fliers, created Facebook campaigns, and lead on-ice crowd engagement activities during games. Morgan thoroughly enjoyed her internship experience and said that it was "exciting to link different projects and organizations in the Topeka community.
