SUBJECT: Faculty Personnel



DESCRIPTION:



Revise Kimberly Hoffman's contract from one-half time to three-quarter time lecturer/coordinator in the Education Department in the College of Arts and Sciences, for the Spring 2004 semester only, to teach one additional course normally taught by an adjunct who cannot return due to illness.



Charles Heller, Assistant Professor in the Criminal Justice Department in the School of Applied Studies, requests a military leave of absence for the Spring 2004 semester (effective January 1 through May 31, 2004). Professor. Heller has been called to active duty from his retired status as a member of the United States Army.



Michael Manske, Associate Professor in the Criminal Justice Department in the School of Applied Studies, requests a military leave of absence for the Spring 2004 semester (effective January 1 through May 31, 2004) and the Fall 2004 semester (effective August 1 through December 31, 2004). Professor Manske has been called to active duty as a member of the United States Marine Corps Reserve.



Dr. JuliAnn Mazachek, president of the Washburn Endowment Association, requests a two-year extension of her leave of absence from her position as tenured Associate Professor of Business for the 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 academic years.



FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:



Professor Hoffman's annual salary will be $18,750 in position number 000182 ($15,000 from position 000182 and $3,750 from C.I.S. position 000142, FOAPAL 100000-310410-601000-11000).



Professor Heller's leave of absence will be unpaid.

Professor Manske's leave of absence will be unpaid.

Professor Mazachek's leave of absence will be unpaid.



RECOMMENDATION:



President Farley recommends that the Board approve these faculty personnel requests.
