Designate Alyce Jessop Assistant Professor Emeritus.

DESCRIPTION:

The Washburn University School of Nursing seeks to achieve its mission of providing "a high quality nursing education, supported by research and service activities, that enhances the economic vitality of the region." Ms. Alyce Jessop has strived to complete this mission in her 7 years of service at Washburn University. Ms. Jessop continues to serve the school in her retirement by providing guest lectures, attending faculty sponsored events, and contributing to the Rogerian Discussion group.

Consistently demonstrated excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service

Developed and taught a wide variety of courses in the core curriculum.

Pioneered on-line course development creating a bridge course of RN to BSN students.

Received the Excellence in Teaching Award from graduating seniors, December, 2000.

Exceptional mentoring of many new faculty and advisement to students.

Active with the Kansas State Nurses' Association

Faculty Counselor of the Eta Kappa At-Large Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, International
