SUBJECT: Production Switcher for KTWU

DESCRIPTION:

KTWU is requesting approval to purchase a multi-definition digital production switcher. The production switcher package will replace an existing analog production switcher with a state of the art digital production switcher. The production switcher will switch both high definition camera sources and standard definition sources. KTWU will be able to produce high-quality high definition programs.

Proposals were submitted from the following vendors:

Shaw Communications $171,243.00

Professional Video Supply, Inc. $141,188.75

The proposal submitted by Professional Video Supply, Inc. did not meet specifications. Ross Video, Inc. submitted the lowest-price proposal meeting specifications.

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:

Funding for the production switcher will be 100% from the KTWU Digital Capital Fundraising Campaign.

RECOMMENDATION:

President Farley recommends approval to award a contract to Ross Video, Inc. for $168,801.00
