Agenda Item No. V. A. 5.
Washburn University Board of Regents
SUBJECT: PERMISSION TO GRANT POSTHUMOUS DEGREE
Third year law student, Todd Lowe died from injuries he sustained in an automobile accident in December 2004, just prior to final examinations. Mr. Lowe's student status was in good standing with a 3.4 GPA. He had completed 73 credit hours and had practically completed all assignments for the final 17 credit hours of his academic career. By all expectations, he would have graduated with the second highest GPA of his group and would have received his Juris Doctor in December 2004.
Based upon the recommendations from the faculty and Dean of the School of Law, permission is requested to award Todd Lowe a Juris Doctor posthumously.
President Farley recommends approval.
