The Washburn University College of Arts and Sciences seeks to achieve its mission of providing "a high quality liberal arts education, supported by research and service activities, that enhances the economic vitality of the region." Dr. Susan Miller has strived to complete this mission.

Twenty-one years of service to Washburn University

Interim Chair of the Department in 1990

Coordinator of the North East Area Special Olympics

Active member of the Kansas Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. Held numerous offices from President to Committee Chairs.

Sabbatical on Stress Management Skills to Children in Australia at the University of Adelaide.

Authorship of 52 International and US oriented books and monographs

Publication record of 107 refereed, commissioned, and other professional articles, and 4 major textbooks
