SUBJECT: CRITERIA AND PROCEDURES FOR ANNUAL FACULTY EVALUATIONS FOR SALARY INCREMENTS





DESCRIPTION:



The following is proposed as an addition to the Faculty Handbook, Section Three.VI.D.



D. In the College and Schools of Law, Nursing, Business and Applied Studies, faculty shall be evaluated yearly for the purpose of salary increments using unit faculty-approved evaluation criteria and procedures, which have been accepted by the appropriate dean. Before completion of this process, each faculty member shall be given a written narrative with a rationale for the recommended evaluation by the appropriate dean or chair.



The University Council approved the proposal on January 13, 2004.



The General Faculty approved the proposal on January 29, 2004.





FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: None.





RECOMMENDATION:



President Farley recommends Board of Regents approval of the criteria and procedures for annual faculty evaluations for salary increments.
