DESCRIPTION:



After consultation with the appointed and elected committees and the respective deans, the following people are recommended for tenure:

Rachel Goossen History College of Arts & Sciences

Edward Higgins Music College of Arts & Sciences

Mark Kaufman Social Work School of Applied Studies

Pamelyn MacDonald Psychology College of Arts & Sciences

Mark Peterson Political Science College of Arts & Sciences

Azyz Sharafy Art College of Arts & Sciences



The following are recommended for promotion to noted ranks:



Richard Ellis Human Services/SAS Promotion to Professor

Amy Fleury English/CAS Promotion to Associate Professor

Miguel Gonzalez- Modern Languages/CAS Promotion to Associate Professor

Abellas

Rachel Goossen History/CAS Promotion to Associate Professor

Vic Landrum Biology/CAS Promotion to Associate Professor

Sam Leung Chemistry/CAS Promotion to Associate Professor

Mark Kaufman Social Work/SAS Promotion to Associate Professor

Thomas Prasch History/CAS Promotion to Associate Professor

Azyz Sharafy Art/CAS Promotion to Associate Professor

Mary Shoop Education/CAS Promotion to Professor



Some other faculty members petitioned but were not recommended for promotion. Promotion and tenure petitions and recommendations are on file in the Academic Affairs Office and available to the Board.



FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:



Additional salaries for promotional increases will be included in the fiscal year 2004 - 2005 budget.



RECOMMENDATION:



President Farley recommends approval of the awarding of the above faculty promotion and tenure.
