SUBJECT: WU/WEA Liaison Committee
BACKGROUND:
The memorandum of understanding delineating the relationship between WEA and WU calls for an annual liaison committee meeting to establish and communicate the agenda by which both organizations will cooperate. The chair and vice-chair of both organizations along with the respective executive officers form the liaison committee. That committee met on February 6, 2006.
This meeting is essential to establishing fundraising priorities and goals for the university upon which WEA will concentrate. The priorities represent both new goals and continuing efforts. Those are:
Ongoing Academic Campaigns:
Scholarships
Professorships and Chairs (supporting existing academic units and programs)
Program support (supporting existing academic units and programs)
Current Special Academic Campaigns:
Chair in Financial Management and Reporting
Law Centennial
Leadership Program
Professorship in Nursing - Masters Program
Current Capital Projects:
Stoffer Hall
Art Building/Mulvane Art Museum
Baseball Stadium
Football Stadium Turf and Track Resurfacing
Proposed Capital Projects
Athletic Strength and Conditioning Facility
Greek Village

RECOMMENDATION:
President Farley recommends the Board of Regents receive the Liaison Committee report and authorize WEA to conduct fundraising on proposed projects and continue fundraising on those projects underway.
