SUBJECT: College Avenue Primary Electrical Improvements - Project C04058



DESCRIPTION: The overhead high voltage electrical service along College Avenue is to be replaced with new and reliable hardware that will include sectional switching capability. The very old wiring will be replaced with new and also placed underground to improve campus beautification efforts.



The wooden utility poles for high voltage electrical service at the east side of Moore Bowl will go away. This project also makes provisions for the future ability to upgrade our incoming voltage to 12,460V instead of our existing 4,160V and thus provide more electrical capacity to this section of campus.

Current Electric $134,105.10

D.L. Smith Electric $204,420.00

Torgeson Electric $175,000.00



FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:



An expenditure of $134,105.10, from the FY 2004 Capital Improvement account for project C04058 which has an approved budget amount of $150,000.00.



RECOMMENDATION:



President Farley recommends the Board of Regents approve award of a contract to Current Electric in the amount of $134,105.10 to install the new high voltage service improvements proposed.
