SUBJECT: UNDERGROUND TELECOMMUNICATIONS CONDUIT for CAMPUS and UNDERGROUND TELECOMMUNICATIONS CONDUIT for New WASHBURN ENDOWMENT CENTER Facility
DESCRIPTION:
This contract entails the underground installation of telecommunication conduit and the pulling of fiber and copper for fire alarm and security. This project is broken down into different phases such that if portion of the work can be down as funding allows. The phases are described below:
MAIN CAMPUS:
Phase I Consists of boring a new 4" conduit with inner ducts from KTWU to Washburn Village and placing copper and fiber into the conduit. Terminations will be done by Washburn ISS Department.
Phase II Consists of boring a new 4" conduit with inner ducts from Henderson Hall to the street and placing copper and fiber into the conduit.
Phase III Consists of boring a new 4" conduit with inner ducts from KTWU to Kuehne Hall and placing copper and fiber into the conduit.
WEA CONNECTION TO MAIN CAMPUS:
Phase IV\Alternate I Consists of boring a new 4" conduit with inner ducts from the north side of the Living Learning Center north to the Southeast corner of the Bradbury Thompson Center and running fiber from Morgan Hall to Bradbury Thompson.
Phase V/Alternate II Consists of boring a new 4" conduit with inner ducts from Bradbury Thompson Center to the new Washburn Endowment Association building and placing copper and fiber into the conduit.
Proposals were requested from 3 electrical contractors and 3 bid proposals were received. Bid analysis is listed below:

Phase 3 remains unfunded and the WEA Connection is funded in the WEA construction budget.
RECOMMENDATION:
President Farley recommends the Board of Regents approve the award of the Campus Underground Telecommunication Conduit project in the amount of $34,300 to Torgeson Electric and in the amount of $56,000 to Torgeson Electric for the Washburn Endowment Association connection to the main Washburn campus.
