SUBJECT: Appointment of Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs
After four years of outstanding service, Dr. Donna LaLonde is stepping down as Associate VPAA. An internal search was conducted according to University policy. Applicants were interviewed by a search committee, which unanimously recommended to the VPAA that Dr. Nancy Tate, Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, be selected for this position. The VPAA concurs with this recommendation.
Dr. Tate has been a member of the Washburn University community since 1985. She received her doctorate from Oklahoma State University, her masters from Pittsburg State, and her bachelors degree from the University of Kansas. She has served as chair of the CIS Dept., as Associate Dean of the College, and as Interim Dean of the College. In each of these positions, Nancy has demonstrated abundant talent, commitment and integrity. In this new role she will continue to make important contributions to the success of our University.
Salary will come in part from the existing position ($80,652 for nine months) with the remainder to be included in the FY05 budget package.
President Farley recommends that the Board of Regents appoint Dr. Nancy Tate as Associate VPAA, effective July 1, 2004, on a 12-month contract at an annual salary of $97,000.
