SUBJECT: Mobile Health Van for the School of Nursing



DESCRIPTION:



At the January Board of Regents meeting, the Board of Regents authorized the administration to proceed with the bidding of the Mobile Clinic Project for the School of Nursing. Since then, proposals were requested for a new health van, to include cab-chassis, clinic rooms and equipment, casework, desks and chairs, utility areas, storage, lavatories, and other amenities. The mobile health van will provide a learning environment for students, under faculty supervision, to practice health assessment skills as detailed at the January Board of Regents meeting.



The following proposals were received:



Vendor Total Amount



LifeLine Shelter Systems, Inc. $169,417.00

Farber Specialty Vehicles $175,498.00

Mobile Conversions, Inc. $249,003.00



FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:



Funding has been approved through the allocation of university reserves.



RECOMMENDATION:



President Farley recommends approval to award a contract to LifeLine Shelter Systems, Inc. in the amount of $169,417.00.
