Agenda Item No. V. B. 3. a.

Washburn University Board of Regents

SUBJECT: Harvey Garden

DESCRIPTION: The garden is to be located between the north side of the new Art Building and the football stadium. This garden will consist of a larger reflecting shallow water pool with two smaller upper pools, connected by small water falls. The design will also utilize an authentic Chinese stone lantern that was a previous gift to the college several years ago. Backdrop tree and shrub plantings will function to separate the activities of the garden and the stadium. The development of the area will provide art students with interesting and convenient subject matter for class assignments as well as adding another unique feature to the campus landscape.

Bids were received for the Harvey Garden; the lower bid was $85,999.00 from Lawrence Landscape Co. (formerly Topeka Landscape).
