SUBJECT: REVISION OF THE CHEMISTRY MAJOR
Description:
The Department of Chemistry proposes the revision to the requirements for the B.S. major certified by the American Chemical Society.
Old Language:
One year of German, Russian or French, or Fortran and C Programming; one year of Calculus; and one year of Physics are required.
New Language:
One year of German, Russian or French, or at least six credit hours in computer programming language courses; one year of Calculus; and one year of Physics are required.
The new requirement is more general and reflects the changing nature of programming language and CIS course offerings.
The proposal was approved by the General Faculty on May 4 , 2006.

President Farley recommends Board of Regents approval of the proposal for the revision of the Chemistry Major.
