SUBJECT: KTWU - FY 2006 Membership Fees.

KTWU pays PBS membership dues in two categories, each of which require Board approval. It was discussed and decided to provide the estimated costs to the Board as one item rather than to present each individually. This will also assist KTWU in taking advantage of discounts associated with paying each invoice prior to stipulated deadlines.

DESCRIPTION:

1. Member Service Assessment which includes:

a. Support of the National Program Service

b. Program administration and scheduling support

c. Promotion/Press/Advertising graphics support

d. Program Contracts/Rights support

e. Audience Research/Program data analysis

f. Interconnection

g. Engineering Development and DTV Planning Office

h. Station Relations Office

i. Development

j. Learning Ventures

i. Offset by net income from revenue generating activities

2. PBS Assessment.

Annual assessment is based on the following elements

FY 2006 Institutional Promotion

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: Not to exceed $432,909.41

Total reflects the following discounts if paid by July 31, 2005:

1% of first half (168,229.65-1682.30 = 166,547.35) if paid by July 31, 2005

2% of second half (168,229.65 - 3,364.59 = 164865.06) if paid by July 31, 2005

RECOMMENDATION:

President Farley recommends that the Board approve these FY 2006 KTWU membership fees.
