SUBJECT: Network Switches and Computer Systems Upgrades

DESCRIPTION:

Information Technology Services is requesting the purchase of various network switches for telephone system upgrades and other equipment and software necessary for computer system upgrades. The equipment and software will replace obsolete hardware and enhance the performance of the existing network. The equipment was approved for the FY04 Capital Improvements Projects and Equipment.

The following bids were received:

SBC DataComm (Non-responsive proposal,

submitted incorrect items in bid)

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:

Funding has been approved through the FY04 Capital Improvements Projects and Equipment fund.

RECOMMENDATION:

President Farley recommends approval to award a contract to Calence, Inc. for $54,920.95.
