Agenda Item No. V. B. 1. b.
Washburn University Board of Regents
SUBJECT: Classroom Renovation - Project #M05007
DESCRIPTION: The existing classrooms are out of date and need to be renovated to improve the appearance and functionality. This is the second of a series of projects to renovate classrooms throughout campus. Included in this bid were heavily used lecture rooms in Henderson and Morgan. As with the past, project items included in this phase are new VCT floors to replace asbestos containing floor tile, light fixtures, ceilings, paint, carpet/base and marker boards.
Bids were received for the classroom renovations from three general contractors. The bids were let by classroom with the option of one contractor receiving all the rooms in one building. Based on the bids received there is no value gained by one contractor working in only one building. The bids will be awarded by room to all three contractors. Work will be completed over Christmas break December 19, 2005 to January 13, 2006.
Bid tabulation is attached.
