SUBJECT: Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) System


A closed circuit television (CCTV) system will be installed for security surveillance at five outdoor locations on the University campus and at sixteen designated locations in the Garvey Fine Arts Building. The Garvey Fine Arts Center previously has not had a surveillance system. The CCTV system includes a system matrix, monitors, digital recorders and related equipment that operates the system which will be installed in the Police Department. Existing cameras in the Business Services Office located in Morgan Hall will be incorporated into the system. The outdoor dome packages will replace existing cameras that are obsolete and poorly functioning. The other related equipment is necessary for the operation of the new cameras and to complete the system.

The CCTV system was approved through the Capital Improvements Projects and Equipment fund. The Garvey Fine Arts Center CCTV system was approved for the Music Department. The outdoor dome packages, system matrix and related equipment were approved for the Police Department.

Request for quotations were sent to seven vendors. The following quotations were received:

Funding has been approved through the Capital Improvements Projects and Equipment fund.


President Farley recommends approval to award a contract to Smith-Audio Visual, Inc. for $84,028.50.
