SUBJECT: Naming of Track

DESCRIPTION:

Washburn Endowment Association, in partnership with the Athletic Department, has been engaged in raising funds to renovate the track surface in the Yager Stadium at Moore Bowl. The renovated track enhances the stadium and completes the field turf project. The private fundraising for the track project totaled $123,000. Washburn had a total budget for this project of approximately $178,000 and expect the actual final cost of the project to be approximately $155,000.

The Washburn/WEA policy on naming facilities allows donors making a gift of at least half of the project's private fundraising may request or be offered a naming opportunity in recognition of support for the project. Significant outdoor spaces require the approval of the Board of Regents.

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:

Naming opportunities enhance fundraising efforts and assist in future fundraising success.

RECOMMENDATION:

President Farley recommends naming the track in Yager Stadium at Moore Bowl the "Sneed Track."
