SUBJECT:     Phase II Roof replacement Morgan Hall

 

 

DESCRIPTION:  Morgan Hall was constructed in two different time periods, the original building in 1953 and an addition in 1966.  A complete new roofing system, utilizing more energy efficient and durable materials was designed for the building in 2003.  Due to budget issues, only half the roof was replaced in 2003.  The second half was approved as Capital Improvement expenditure for FY04/05.  To maintain the warrantee for the portion replaced in 2003, bids were solicited from qualified roofing contractors.  Two bids were received.

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: 

 

An expenditure of  $177,850 from the FY 04-05 Capital Improvement account.

 

 

RECOMMENDATION:

 

President Farley recommends the Board of Regents approve award of a contract to Guilfoyle Roofing in the amount of $177,850 to replace the second portion of the roof for Morgan Hall.
