BOARD OF REGENTS

MINUTES

October 24, 2006

I.     Call to Order

 

Chairperson Warren called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m. in Room 204 of Morgan Hall.

 

II.    Roll Call

 

Present were:  :  Mrs. Warren, Mr. Blair, Mrs. Paul, Mrs. Parks, Mr. Bunten*, Mr. Lagerberg* and Mr. Gaines.*

 

        * Participated via teleconference call.

 

III.  New Business

 

It was moved and seconded to recess to executive session for the purpose of consulting with the University's lawyer and to reconvene in open session in Morgan 204 not later than 4:45 p.m.  Motion passed.  The Board recessed to executive session at 4:32 p.m.

At 4:45 p.m. the Board reconvened in open session.  Chairperson Warren advised the Board had been in executive session for the purpose of consulting with its lawyer and that no action had been taken.

 

It was moved and seconded to accept the settlement recommended by counsel for resolving Washburn University v. McPherson, et al. and to authorize the use of University reserves for paying the additional costs of the curtain wall window repairs in excess of the settlement amount.  Motion passed.

 

The meeting adjourned at 4:46 p.m.
