SUBJECT:  Mabee Library Condenser Units Replacement

 

DESCRIPTION:

 

The two existing condenser units that provide the air conditioning for the Mabee Library building are over 20 years old and need to be replaced. The project proposal includes installation of two new condenser units on the roof of Mabee Library.

 

The project also includes some minor modifications of the steel support structure to accommodate the two new condensing units and their controls. New condensing units will improve reliability and energy efficiency.

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: 

 

An expenditure of $92,145, from the following budgets is requested.

Capital project C06075 has an approved budget amount of                   $48,808

Capital project C07074 has an approved budget amount of                   $26,000

Capital project C07058 has an approved budget amount of                   $15,000

Facilities Services operating maintenance budget amount of                      $2,337

Funds from these listed projects provides for the needed total of            $92,145

 

RECOMMENDATION:

 

President Farley recommends the Board of Regents approval for an award of a contract to McElroy Inc. to install the (2) new condensers units for Mabee Library as proposed.
