SUBJECT:
Permission to designate Dr. Adebisi Otudeko Professor Emeritus.
DESCRIPTION:
Dr. Otedeko is retiring after 26 years of service to Washburn University. He served as Chair of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology for 13 years and left his mark on the Department. His teaching interests include: Cultural Anthropology, Peoples and Cultures of Africa, Globalization, Maya and Aztec Civilization, Family, and City and Urban Life. His research interests are: Oral Tradition, Yoruba Culture, Migration: Rural/ Urban/International, and Globalization. In these areas, he has had numerous publications and presentations.
His service to the University includes serving on both the College and the University committees. Since he has stepped down as Chair, he has taught regularly and has graciously shared his accumulated knowledge with our students.

RECOMMENDATION:
President Farley recommends Dr. Adebisi Otudeko as Professor Emeritus.
