SUBJECT: Annual Request for Allocation From WEA Current Gift Fund

DESCRIPTION:

Each year, in conformance with established policies of the Washburn Endowment Association for its Current Gift Fund, the President recommends an amount to be allocated by WEA for the support of University activities and functions, including employee morale activities such as the Strawberry Breakfast, Holiday event, and Employee Recognition functions.  This funding is also essential for University development and fundraising activities. Requests for payment certify the "requested disbursement constitutes a legitimate, allowable expense of Washburn University and meets public purpose criteria." The amount recommended for the fiscal year 2006-7 is $107,500.

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: This is an internal allocation of funding from WEA due the university.

RECOMMENDATION:

 

President Farley recommends the Board ratify the recommendation to WEA for allocation of $107,500 from the WEA Current Gift fund for expenditures for University purposes.
