SUBJECT: Classroom Renovation for Morgan Hall - Project M06002

DESCRIPTION:

The existing classrooms are out of date and need to be renovated to improve their appearance and functionality. As part of the 2005/2006 Board Approved Budget, the Board approved additional funds for Classroom Renovations. This portion of additional funds is to replace the fan coil units in 20 classrooms throughout Morgan Hall. Replacement of these fan coil units will improve the ability to heat and cool the classroom space plus provide new and quiet equipment.

Bids were received for the replacement of (28) fan coil units; the low bid was $61,382.00.

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:

An expenditure of $61,382, from the FY 2006 Capital Improvement Accounts is requested.

RECOMMENDATION:

President Farley recommends the Board of Regents approve award of a contract to Young's Mechanical to replace the fan coil units at the Morgan Hall classrooms affected by the renovation efforts.
