SUBJECT: Architect Selection Policy

DESCRIPTION:

The architect selection process has been reviewed and revised. The process used for selection of the architects for the Living Learning Center was thorough, fair, and open. The intent of this policy is to formalize and standardize the process previously used for the LLC.

Policy Statement:

It is the policy of Washburn University, except for emergency procurements or contracts within the administration's contract authority, to publicly solicit proposals for architect-engineer, construction management, and land surveying services and to negotiate contracts for such services on the basis of demonstrated competence and qualification for the particular type of services required at fair and reasonable prices.

Attached are the procedures to implement this policy.

RECOMMENDATION:

President Farley recommends that the Board of Regents approve the policy statement noted above.
