SUBJECT: BACHELOR OF SCIENCE WITH A MAJOR IN ATHLETIC TRAINING
Description:
The Department of Health, Physical Education and Exercise Science has proposed a major in Athletic Training in the Bachelor of Science Degree. In addition, they have proposed the removal of Athletic Training as a concentration in the Bachelor of Arts with a major in Physical Education. The Bachelor of Science with a major in Athletic Training will allow a heavier emphasis on the sciences and expansion of major credit hours to meet accreditation standards.
The College of Arts and Sciences Faculty Council approved the proposal on November 14, 2001. The University Curriculum Committee approved the program on December 8, 2001. The University Council approved the proposal on January 22, 2002. The General Faculty approved the proposal on February 7, 2002.

President Farley recommends Board of Regents approval of the proposal for the Bachelor of Science with a major in Athletic Training.
