SUBJECT: Digital Television Antenna for KTWU

DESCRIPTION:

KTWU is requesting approval to purchase a digital television antenna system. The system consists of a DTV antenna, custom mount and pattern optimization study, transmission line and dehydrator.

The following proposals were received:

Andrew Corporation $195,428.25

RFA Broadcast (Non-responsive proposal,

Failed to submit bid bond with proposal)

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:

Funding for the Digital Television Antenna will be from the following:

State of Kansas DTV Bonds (made available in July 2001) 50% of purchase price.

Federal Grant (PTFP) for DTV (allocated in September 2001) 40% of purchase price.

Local Funds from DTV capital campaign fundraising 10% of purchase price.

RECOMMENDATION:

President Farley recommends approval to award a contract to Dielectric Communications for $180,724.00.
