SUBJECT: PROPOSED LEADERSHIP STUDIES CERTIFICATE
DESCRIPTION:
The Institute for the Study and Practice of Leadership and the general outline of the Leadership Program was approved by the Board of Regents. The Institute now proposes an interdisciplinary Leadership Studies Certificate open to baccalaureate students in all majors and degree programs.
The certificate program is designed to be completed during the time it takes to complete a baccalaureate degree. This program is intended to provide graduates with the knowledge and skills necessary to be effective in government, business, not-for-profit, educational and civic settings. Washburn graduates who complete the Leadership Studies Certificate will have successfully demonstrated:
Leadership Studies Certificate Highlights
The University Council approved the certificate proposal on November 13, 2001.
The General Faculty approved the proposal on February 7, 2002.

President Farley recommends Board of Regents approval of the proposed Leadership Studies Certificate.
