SUBJECT: Eminentes Universitatis
Washburn University awards the "Eminentes Universitatis" designation to long-term employees who meet the following requirements: employed as an administrative or classified employee for a period of twenty years or more; retire in good standing; and service performed must be judged to have been meritorious.
Bob Stoller, the Associate Director of Information Technology Services responsible for the Administrative Information Systems, recommends the Board bestow the designation of "Eminentes Universitatis" upon Marjorie Yates. Marjorie began her outstanding service to the University December 3, 1973, as a keypunch operator. She has worked in the computing/data processing area since that time, and currently holds the title Computer Operator. She is an invaluable member of the Administrative Information Services team, and is a key person in accomplishing the work of the department. She will retire from her position June 30, 2001. Ms. Yate's meritorious performance, and her dedication and loyalty to this University merit her recommendation as Eminentes Universitatis.
The Athletic Director, Loren Ferre, recommends the Board bestow the designation of "Eminentes Universitatis" upon Patty Dick. Patty was Washburn's Head Women's Basketball Coach from August 1, 1978 until her retirement April 30, 2000. In 1993 Coach Dick was named MIAA Coach of the Year, Converse District VI Coach of the Year, and honored as Kansas Coach of the Year. Her career record of 431-224 made her the winningest coach in team history when ranked by both victories and winning percentage. Her dedicated service to Washburn merits her recommendation as Eminentes Universitatis.
The University Controller, Mary Lou Herring, recommends the Board bestow the designation of "Eminentes Universitatis" upon Barbara Jones. Barbara began her employment at Washburn University on March 1, 1979 as the Order and Voucher Clerk Assistant in the Business Office. She has worked as a Clerk II and an Account Clerk I in the accounts payable function for her entire Washburn career. She will retire from her position June 30, 2001 after serving Washburn University for over twenty years. Ms. Jones' long, loyal, and industrious service to Washburn University merits her recommendation as Eminentes Universitatis.

President Farley recommends the Board of Regents approve awarding the designation "Eminentes Universitatis" to Ms. Yates, Ms. Dick, and Ms. Jones.
