DESCRIPTION:
At the end of the 2001 Spring semester, Dr. Billy Milner will retire as a Professor of the Mathematics and Statistics Department after 30 years of service to Washburn University.
Dr. Milner has dedicated and devoted himself to his students and their success. He has continually strived for excellence in his students and himself by setting very high standards and expectations.
During his tenure at Washburn, Dr. Milner has served as Acting Chair of the Mathematics and Statistics Department, and Associate Chair of the department. He has served as a faculty representative the Washburn Board of Regents, and has been a member of and chaired many University committees. He also served as Chair of the Kansas Section of The Mathematics Association of America.
The title Professor Emeritus is recommended in recognition of Billy Milner's long and distinguished career, and his record of 30 years of contributions to the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, and Washburn University.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
None
RECOMMENDATION:
President Farley recommends that the Board honor Dr. Billy Milner with the title, Professor Emeritus.
