SUBJECT: Architectural Services Contract for Living Learning Center Phase II
Washburn University negotiated with Michael Treanor Architects to provide architectural services for Phase I of the Living Learning Center pursuant to approval of the Board of Regents at the September 9, 1998 meeting. Phase II services were not included in the original amount negotiated since the full scope of Phase II was not known at that time.
A team of individuals from campus have continued to work with the MTA architects through Phase I and now into Phase II. This continuity provides an effective planning process and it is the recommendation of the committee that we extend MTA's contract to cover Phase II.
The contract to provide the architectural services for Phase II is in the amount of 9.0% of construction costs.
The architectural services contract will be paid from 03-00531 designated for the Living Learning Center Phase II and is less than the original estimates for architectural services detailed in the Living Learning Center update provided to the Board of Regents at the August 18, 1999 meeting.
President Farley recommends the Board of Regents approve the additional contract with Michael Treanor Architects. The Board will receive an update on Phase II at the conclusion of the preliminary design phase.
