SUBJECT: Chemistry Fume Hood Exhaust Fan replacement in Stoffer Hall.

DESCRIPTION:

Bids were received on March 20, 2001 for replacement of the exhaust fans on the fume hoods in the Chemistry Labs in Stoffer Hall. This project was included as part of the FY 00-01 Capital Improvement Budget and will replace the existing small exhaust fans that no longer meet the criteria and tolerance for laboratory safety.

Bids for the project were as follows.

SAMCO, Inc. $ 46,135

Young's, Inc. 48,099

Universal Mech. 53,896

McElroy's, Inc. 58,900

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: Expenditure of $46,135 from Capital Improvement Account # 03-00302.

RECOMMENDATION: President Farley recommends the Board of Regents approve the award of a contract to SAMCO, Inc. for $46,135 to complete the replacement of Fume Hood Exhaust Fans in Chemistry Laboratories in Stoffer Hall.
