SUBJECT: Faculty Personnel

DESCRIPTION:

Professor Rogelio Lasso, School of Law, requests a leave of absence for the Fall 2001 semester to be a Visiting Professor at DePaul University College of Law. DePaul University will pay to Washburn University Professor Lasso's salary, plus fringe benefits. Washburn will pay Professor Lasso on its regular monthly payroll, but a grant account established with DePaul University will be charged for his fall salary and benefits.

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:

Professor Lasso's budget line (32500-11-2) will contain funds for his 2002 Spring semester salary. As noted above, the 2001 Fall semester salary will be paid by DePaul University. A contract with DePaul University is being prepared. Should the contract not be signed by both institutions, or should Washburn University fail to receive funds from DePaul University, then Professor Lasso will be on an unpaid leave of absence for the fall semester.

RECOMMENDATION:

President Farley recommends that the Board of Regents approve the above faculty personnel change.
