SUBJECT: NURSING CURRICULUM REVISION

Description:

The proposed curriculum revision is the outcome of discussions and meetings that have occurred over time within the School of Nursing. The changes are designed to address changes within the health care system, trends in nursing education, responses from students' evaluations and clinical agency staff expectations of preparation for baccalaureate nurse graduates entering professional nursing in the 21st century.

The University Council approved the proposal April 20, 2000.

The General Faculty approved the proposal May 4, 2000.

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: No additional funding required.

RECOMMENDATION:

President Farley recommends Board of Regents approval of the Nursing Curriculum Revision.
