SUBJECT: Faculty Personnel

DESCRIPTION:

Hire Brian Ogawa on a one-year, full-time, non-tenure track contract (renewable up to three years) as an Assistant Professor in the Human Services Department in the School of Applied Studies effective August 2001.

Hire John Kratina on a one-year, full-time, non-tenure track contract (renewable up to three years) as an Instructor in the Allied Health Department in the School of Applied Studies effective August 2001.

Janice Melland, a part-time Clinical Instructor in the School of Nursing requests a personal leave of absence for the Fall 2001 semester. She will resume her duties in the Spring 2002 semester.

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:

Brian Ogawa's annual salary will be $42,900.00 from new budget line 29700-07-2 ($38,472.00 from budget line 16500-01-2, and $4,428.00 from SAS Other Salaries line 29500-21-0).

John Kratina's annual salary will be $38,700 ($38,000 from budget line 29600-08-2, and $700 from SAS Other Salaries line 29500-21-0).

Janice Melland's leave of absence will be unpaid.

RECOMMENDATION:

President Farley recommends that the Board approve these faculty personnel requests.
