DESCRIPTION
On June 30, 2000, Dr. Alice A. Young will retire as Dean of the School of Nursing after 26 years of service to Washburn University.
Alice joined the Washburn faculty in January 1974 as Associate Professor and Chairperson for the Department of Nursing. She was appointed the Dean of the School of Nursing in 1982. She was responsible for development of the baccalaureate nursing program at Washburn University in 1973.
The titles Professor Emeritus and Dean Emeritus are recommended in recognition of Dr. Alice Young's long and distinguished career, and for her outstanding and meritorious service to the community, the School of Nursing and Washburn University.

RECOMMENDATION
President Farley recommends that the Board honor Dr. Alice A. Young with the titles, Professor Emeritus and Dean Emeritus.
