SUBJECT: Faculty Personnel

DESCRIPTION:

Hire Ms. Jamaine Abidogun as a Lecturer to teach Elementary Social Studies for one-year in the Department of Education.

Hire Richard T. Driver as a Lecturer for one-year in the Department of Mathematics & Statistics.

Due to an administrative oversight, Gary Schmidt, Department of Computer Information Science, was not given a merit increase. Add a 3% increase to his current salary.

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:

Abidogun's salary for the 1999-2000 academic year will be $34,008 on line # 17500-13-2. Currently this line contains $33,500, $508 should be moved from 17500-03-2 to fund the salary.

Driver's salary for the 1999-2000 academic year will be $32,004 on line # 22500-05-2. Currently this line contains $30,000, $2,004 should be moved from 10500(Dean's Other Salaries) to fund the salary.

To fund Schmidt's increase, $1,716 will be taken from 10500(Dean's Other Salaries) and added to Schmidt's line #15600-01-2 which currently has $60,048. His new salary base will be $58,564 with an administrative stipend of $3,200, the total academic salary will be $61,764.

RECOMMENDATION:

President Farley recommends that the Board approve these faculty requests.
