Washburn University Board of Regents

SUBJECT: Student Fitness/Recreation Center


In February a Student Fitness Center Committee was formed to explore the need and feasibility of such a facility. The Committee has prepared a preliminary report (attached) and Vice President Ottinger, committee chair, will discuss the report.

The Capital Projects Development Process outlines the future action steps for this project. The next steps in the project include:

1. Complete the Program Statement

2.Identify prospects for and test the viability of fundraising

3.Complete the Preliminary Cost Estimate and the Financing Plan

4.Return to the Board of Regents with items 1-3 above and request authority to solicit architectural services.
