SUBJECT: Change Orders - Memorial Union
The following change orders, which modify the contract of the prime contractor, are recommended.
General Contract - McPherson Contractors, Inc.
PR-09, PCO-10: Change ceiling at upper level south hallways from new ceiling system with relocated M/E items to existing/modified grid and M/E with new tiles. Net decrease: ($1,319.00).
PCO-13: Demolition required to install new beam at north wall of south building - upper level at new entry tower. Net increase: $3,547.00.
PR-06, PCO-14:Delete non-traditional student offices and provide open railings at new lobby platform (improved wayfinding for wheelchair users). Net increase: $6,596.00.
PR-13, PCO-16: Furring to cover unsightly slab edge on east wall at cut in old floor slab. Net increase: $929.00.
PR-15, PCO-19: Fire alarm revisions - from Fire Department review of shop drawings. Net increase: $4,675.00.
PR-16, PCO-20: Lighting and HVAC revisions to match ceiling changes made in PR-11. PR-11 approved by Board in July was to modify ceiling plan to align with existing cove to remain, and relocate circulation path so that existing masonry lintel at column line "J" will not need to be relocated. Net increase: $313.00.
Net contract change: Increase: $14,741.00
No change contract completion date - December 24, 2001
Net increase in project cost of $14,741.00. Total commitment from contingency including this request is $38,909, leaving a $340,744 contingency balance.
President Farley recommends approval of the change orders by the Board of Regents.
